FROM 1890
1) A mixture of ice and salt, in proportion of one to one-half, applied to the head,
frequently gives instant relief from acute headache. It should be tied up in a small
linen cloth, like a pad, and held as near as possible to the seat of the pain.
2) Coarse brown paper soaked in vinegar and placed on the forehead is good for a
sick headache.
3) If the eyelids are gently bathed in cool water, the pain in the head is generally
allayed.
